So as probably everybody knows, today is Earth Day. Earth Day was started 41 years ago.
While it’s important to help the environment, it’s something that should be done everyday of the year. Like using a reusable mug everyday instead of only today to get your free Starbucks.

EarthDay

Our city, picks up the recycling every two weeks. It’s so nice to not have to worry about dragging recyclables to a center and sorting them.
I saw on Facebook, an event to use a water bottle repeatedly instead of buying a new bottle every time. I use the same water bottle at the gym, until I dropped and broke my last one. I use a plastic cup from QT for water at work, instead of the paper cups on the water cooler.
I reuse plastic sandwich bags when possible.
I try to take canvas bags to the store, sadly a lot of trips are unplanned, so I don’t have bags with me, though I do have some in my trunk now for the next time.

Here are some other things you can do to help.

What do you do to help the Earth?

I always carry the travel mug that you gave me!
I've also gotten a lot better about carrying reusable bags to the grocery story, and reusing plastic bags.

What do I do to help the earth? I don't eat meat, that's big one. The meat for consumption industry is one of the top 3 pollutants on the planet of air, land, and water. Miriam@Meatless Meals For Meat Eaters
P.S. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

I almost always have a water bottle in hand (and when I forget it, I wish I had it!); am a member of a community composting group; recycle; and carry roll-up reusable bags when headed into town. I also pick up any trash I see (including cigarette butts). I've also become more aware of reducing - when I'm in the store, I really thing about whether or not I need a product (especially if it is wrapped up in plastic and cardboard).

I'm glad that as a whole we are starting to be more conscious everyday about things that affect the earth!
