Behind the Attic Wall

attic

I just finished reading Behind the Attic Wall by Sylvia Cassedy.
It was really cute. Nothing great, but I liked it. It’s about a girl, Maggie,
whose parents died and has been going between boarding schools since.
The book starts with her going to live with her 2 aunts, at this time she is very thin and ill-behaved. The home of her aunts, was at one time a boarding school. After living there for a while, she starts hearing voices. She is the only one that can hear the voices. She tries following them but can not find where they are coming from. Finally, she hears them say that it is time and they are waiting for her. She follows the voices up into the attic, where she finds a couple of dolls. She becomes friends with the dolls, and her behavior and looks improve. She no longer  sucks on her hair and she starts to fill out.

Her behavior has improved so much, the aunts decide to show her off to their friends. The same day they plan their party, Maggie has planned a party for the dolls. During the party, the aunts find Maggie and the dolls lose their ability to move and talk.

I give this book a 3/5  I really liked it, it wasn’t spectacular but good. Apparently Pandora did not like the book, cause I had it sitting here next to me and she threw it on the ground.
