Inspirational Thursday

There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want.  -Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes

Be like a duck. Calm on the surface, but always paddling like the dickens underneath.
Michael Caine

End each day with thoughts of peace. Begin each day with thoughts of peace. Continue thinking thoughts of peace throughout your precious day and happiness will be yours.

After a stressful drive to the gym for yoga, I decided I needed to calm down and be peaceful on the way to yoga. so I slowed down and not let the other driver’s bother me. I tried listening to slow music to help calm me. Then a song came on that made me smile. I realized then that calmness doesn’t just come from slow and quiet, it just being happy and enjoying the moment.

You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive.
~Author Unknown

Through the practices of yoga, we discover that concern for the happiness and well being of others, including animals, must be an essential part of our own quest for happiness and well being. The fork can be a powerful weapon of mass destruction or a tool to create peace on Earth.
Sharon Gannon

Earlier this week I read an article on yahoo about what yoga teacher would tell you. And one of the things was that you should get in a yoga state of mind before getting to class. Now, I go to yoga straight from work, and there’s horrible drivers on the road. Last week I got road rage horrible on the way to yoga. I mused to myself I was like yelling stuff like “Hurry up, some of us are late to yoga”. At least I saw the irony in it. I need to work on my yoga state of mind as I drive.

Inspirational Thursday

Since Thursday I do Yoga, I have decided I will post inspirational quotes.

The yoga mat is a good place to turn when talk therapy and antidepressants aren't enough.

Yoga has a sly, clever way of short-circuiting the mental patterns that cause anxiety.
~Baxter Bell, quoted in "Worry Thwarts," Yoga Journal, March 2006

I especially love this second quote because it’s so true. I have really bad anxiety, pretty much my whole life, but has gotten worse in the last year or so.Yoga helps relieve this anxiety and always makes me feel great.

Finally Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!

So glad it’s finally Friday. It’s been a long week, and even with not having work on Monday (had a class for work). Though the week will end on a good note. I went to Yoga last night, almost didn’t since I was really tired. I am so glad I did! I was feel a million times better after Yoga. And it was especially good, as I hadn't been in a while cause I was sick, my anxiety was starting to come back a little, and yoga helped a ton. I will be working at the corporate office today and Monday and then another class on Tuesday! How exciting!

As I was driving to work this morning, I was in a hit in run. I was hit by a bunny. True story. I was driving down the road, and I saw something tumbling across the other lane of traffic. Then I heard something hit my car. When I looked in the rear view mirror, there was a bunny running into the grass. How crazy is that?! I hope he's ok! Though, the area seems to have a ton of bunnies. Last year we had at least 3 bunny nests in our yard. I found one while I was mowing. I mowed over a spot and then saw the spot moving. Don't worry, none of the bunnies were hurt.

I said I would do a giveaway when I got 50 followers, and I have! So I will post the details probably on Monday. Thanks! You guys rock!

Let’s start the weekend with some Eddie Izzard:

Racist people, interestingly, are never as polite as smokers. Have you noticed that? Smokers always go, "Do you mind if I smoke? Oh, you do? Okay, I'll go outside and have a cigarette." Racist people never go, "Do you mind if I'm racist? Oh, I'll go outside … fucking blue people, eh? Coming here, steal our hamsters …"
